Son Doong Cave is located in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Vietnam. The largest cave in the world is estimated to have been formed around 2-3 million years ago. Even the age of the limestone in the National Park suggests the area as a whole may be more than 400 million years old.
Son Doong Cave was formed from river water eroding limestone karst. In the process, it forms unique geological features from intricate formations of stalagmites and stalactites, to enormous underground chambers. It is about 9 kilometers long, and some parts of the cave are 200 meters high and 150 meters wide.

Son Doong Cave was discovered by local residents in 1990. However, no one set foot inside the cave until 2019. For several years no one has explored it and it is believed that there are still some areas that have not been fully explored.

The cost required to explore the Son Doong cave reaches US $ 3000. Apart from costs, because the journey to the cave takes several days, visitors must be in top condition, healthy and fit.
